Done with boring.

I have a list of goals for next year I wrote today. They are practical, attainable, and…boring.

I just tore them up.

I’m tired of boring. I’ve spent two years being safe, complacent, and invisible.

No more boring and attainable. This year it is scary, exciting, and impossible.

I don’t know what that means yet, but I’m praying about it.

Think Before You Speak…

Love this guy, relentless pursuit of authenticity. This particular post really resonated with me as I have been really thinking about my speech, and the weight it carries.

Whether it is a dude who makes fat “jokes” or freely using the comeback “Your mom!” around someone who’s mother has died, we need to be less ignorant, more aware, and probably ten-times more sensitive to those around us than we typically are.

Hinge Moments

I have recently started reading “Quitter” by Jon Acuff. In a chapter talking about figuring out what exactly your dream is he talks about “hinge moments”

“A hinge moment occurs when you are planning to do something standard and normal, something you’ve done many times before, like turn a key in the ignition. And then seemingly out of nowhere, something, a small detail usually, hinges you in a different direction. A chance encounter at the grocery store, a stranger’s random comment, one line in an article you read pushes you to a place you were not expecting to go – Page 44″
